About

This is me, Amy.

I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. I love my husband, kiddo, the simple life, homesteading, classy camo, and my backyard chickens and farm animals -- almost as much as I love my dog. I am passionate about music, my guitar and my camera. I am a photographer, specializing in natural light photography and lifestyle portraiture.

A little about me:
I love connecting with people on a professional and personal level. I have a family, just like many of you have or plan to have. I have a normal life in a normal world with a normal house and a normal yard. I love driving down back country roads with my windows down and a good tune playing on the radio. I enjoy a nice cool pond or river to fish in. I love the beach but I hate the ocean. I love my lab almost as much as I love my son. I have a son! And we hope to have more children in the near future. I love my husband and honor and respect him as the head of our household -- God, Husband, Wife, Children...in that order. I'm a Christian and am passionate about Christ. I'm simple but fun, wild and crazy.

My Professional Journey:
In June 2011, I came to the realization that most photography wall art was simply too expensive for my budget, especially when the photos weren't even taken by a local photographer and the print was not high quality. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands, take my own photos and edit them with my own text, scriptures, etc. Little did I know that other people would fall in love with my nature and abstract photography and soon orders started coming in for photo prints and packages.

I'd never officially tried taking photos of 'people' until October of that same year, when one of my best friends asked me to take her engagement photos for her. That evening, when I finished editing the engagement photos, I posted the photos on the internet and to facebook to share with the happy couple. Instantly, my home phone and email started blowing up with friends and family members asking me to take their photos for them. I was shocked and amazed by the response I received. "Certainly", I thought to myself, "I must have 'something.'"

Since then, I've photographed so many families that I stopped counting, because, after all, it's not that important. What's important is the joy I can bring to other's lives by capturing their memories and life. I've gleamed with happiness at the thought of being a 'professional photographer'. I never realized how much joy capturing other peoples memories could bring to my own life. And I never realized, until I became a photographer, just how important it is to capture those memories....no matter how busy you or your family may be. It is equally as important to remember to print your photos, even if you don't have the time to hang them on your wall. Throw them in an old shoe box for goodness sake -- you'll come across them one day and have memories to cherish forever.

Thank you for taking the time to view my website and I look forward to working with you!
