The Dawson Family | Sneak Peek

I love this family so much! And their photos always convey the personalities that they have. Crazy and amazing are the two best personalities a person can have, and I am honored to capture it for them every year!

Kevin is the Pastor of the Journey Church, and Tabitha (who is also my husband's cousin) is his sidekick, but an amazing leader herself. Their two boys are a riot, in a good way, and I know their spunky humor will certainly open the floodgates of joy to those in need of it!

We love attending the Journey and have grown so much, ourselves, over the past two years.

Here are a few of my favorites from their session.

Special Announcement | Now Booking 2016

— **CLIENTS** PLEASE READ CAREFULLY FOR THE 2016 YEAR —

This has been another amazingly successful and busy year for me—you guys are amazing! I have enjoyed every single session, and each family and session brings so much learning and joy.

With that said, I am already booking well into the Fall and Christmas season for 2016. This has never ever happened before. But since I have limited time and space, it was bound to happen at some point.

So, here is the plan for 2016.

I WILL NOT BE BOOKING IN DECEMBER NEXT YEAR.

Spring and Summer are of course going to remain an open book. There are more daylight hours, which means there are more dates and times to choose from.

HOWEVER, Fall and Christmas sessions for 2016 will be LIMITED.

— CHRISTMAS MINIS 2016 —

PLEASE START BOOKING NOW. Even if you are just slightly interested.

I WILL NOT BE BOOKING DECEMBER 2016, AT ALL. Zero dates in December next year. Unfortunately this year got extremely crazy and down to the wire with last minute sessions, rain rescheduling, etc.; and here it is, almost Christmas, and I haven't even had time to spend with my own family. I definitely over-booked myself this year, but it was worth it this last time :) <3 You guys made it joyous! And I simply lost track of time!

I WILL be offering a weekend of Christmas minis again next year, and hopefully with the truck, as I did this year. I don't want to commit to that this far in advance, but I'd say it's a pretty safe bet as long as all goes as planned. Tentatively, we will set that date for SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 5& 6, 2016.

I AM ALREADY RECEIVING INQUIRIES ABOUT CHRISTMAS MINIS!!! Please PLEASE let me know if you'd like a spot.

Sessions will be 30 minutes long, 10+ digital photos, complete print rights, $125/per session

— FALL MINI SESSIONS 2016 —

These will begin the first week in October and run through November.

Sessions will be 30 minutes long, 10+ digital photos, complete print rights, $125/per session.

HOUR SESSIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE like normal, $195/per session. PLEASE try to get those booked well in advance as well.

I will still be taking on other sessions, such as Seniors, Maternity & Newborn, through out the entire year. PLEASE DO contact me about those, though they do not need to be excessively in advance.

I really don't want to turn anyone away, especially repeat clients. So if I could even just get my repeat clients to book in advance next year, that would be wonderful and would help me tremendously in the coming year!

I absolutely understand that it's hard to think a year in advance, but unfortunately, it's necessary if you'd like to get your fall and Christmas photos done in a timely manner. Taking out an entire month of time (next December) will really hinder my ability to fit in any last minute sessions, therefore, it will have to be strictly first come first serve.

I will be sending out an email newsletter in the Spring to remind everyone. If you'd like to be put on my enewsletter list, please respond with your email address below or by email. This will include any specials that I'm running during the entire year as well.

Thank you for making 2015 such an incredible experience for me. You have pushed me to grow and learn. You have brought tears to my eyes with some of your stories and smiles. And you have softened my heart more than you realize. Thank you!!

xoxo,
Amy

The "S" Family Sneak Peek

It wasn't that long ago when I was sitting at a school desk next to this guy. He hated school, and unbeknownst to teachers, there were many times when his work ended up at my desk to "fix". He would have been the best man in my husband and I's wedding, if we would have had a normal wedding. And my husband was his best man. I often prayed my heart out that this sweet soul would find a woman with a heart as wonderful as his, and he absolutely did.

This beautiful family is one that I was absolutely thrilled to photograph, not just because of history, but because they are just wonderful, inside and out! They asked that I only post a very few photos online, and I totally understand that. So, here are four of my favorites from their session. Trust me, it was hard to pick four :)

{Sneak Peek} The Dowell Family

I have the pleasure of watching families grow right before my eyes. And yet I am continuously amazed by how quickly time flies by. It seemed like just yesterday Brian and I were going to school together, and now here he is with a gorgeous wife and a beautiful little family. Saying that I'm proud of him might make me seem much "older" than him, and though I'm not, I have loved sitting back and watching this family grow into what they are now.

Last weekend I met up with them for a few family photos. Casey also asked me to take a few discrete nursing photos, and I am so happy that she did. As with so many new moms, Casey's nursing experience was not as successful as she had hoped it would be with her first little one. However, her second little one is a completely different story, and she is thoroughly enjoying it. With not knowing whether their family will continue expanding over the coming years, Casey wanted to capture that intimate bonding moment that we have with our littles during nursing. It is a feeling that is extremely hard to explain unless you have experienced it -- and I know every single nursing mother....past, present and future....understands!

{Fall Mini Session} The Seabolt Family

I'm finally getting around to blogging this very patient family's session, and it's a beautiful one. I knew they lived up on the mountain not too far from me, but I didn't realize just how far up on top of the mountain they actually lived....and I am so thankful for it. It was the most beautiful ride I've had in a long time to a clients session, and the leaves were just at peak and perfectly crisp, waiting for the shutter to click.

My little family has known Danny for quite some time, but I've just recently gotten to know his wife, Ashley, and I absolutely love her to pieces. She is just wonderful, and I am so happy we finally got to meet in person a few weeks ago...and their adorable kiddo's!

Here are a few of my favorites from their session...

{Fall Mini Session} The B Family

Last week I met up with this precious little family for the third year in a row. It is incredibly awesome to see these little fella's grow right before my eyes. I can't even imagine how that makes their momma and daddy feel!

At the end of our session, one of the little guys came up to me and gave me a giant hug and said "thank you for taking our photos". He was a ham for the camera, but he warmed my heart more than he knows. This is why I love my job!!

Here are a few of my favorites from their session....

{Fall Mini + Senior Session} The Dawson Family | Old Town Warrenton

This year, as always, Summer was my extremely slow season. I welcomed it with open arms, but I must admit, it was incredibly exciting seeing this view behind the lens over the weekend. My Fall photography season is in full swing, and I could not have asked for a better family to kick it off for me!
Not only is this family just amazingly awesome, they are also part of our family, and our Church family. We get the best of both worlds -- not only are they my husband's cousins family, they are also our Pastor and his little brood!
Here are a few of my favorites from their session in Old Town Warrenton this weekend....

{Sneak Peek} The Denison Family + Smash Cake

I met up with the Denison family last week for an early  morning session. Morning session's are always my favorite. The light in the morning is just so much more different and brilliant than in the evenings. It's almost "fresh" and new feeling when scrolling through the photos I've edited.

I have photographed the Denison family several times over the past year or so. It all started with sweet little Reid's newborn session. Oh my, did he steal my heart then. Ashley is a natural mama and even let me hold him and snuggle with him while the rest of the family was getting ready for their newborn session that day. Coming from a woman who has had severe baby fever for well over a year, it was such a blessing :)

Maternity Session | The Blevins Family

Last weekend it was freezing. I mean.... f r e e z i n g. And so windy!! I won't even tell you my husbands reference to it...but I'm sure most wives can take a good guess. Those big babies.....

But even in the frigid air, like the mail man, I was there, ready to capture love and memories!!  :) And this brave family was there too -- and I love them even more for it.

I have photographed the Blevins family (children, parents, grandparents...you name it!) several times over the past two years, and every single time I am amazed by their love for one another and just how stinkin' fun they are!

Ashley is expecting little Blevins baby #2, and I get to capture it this time around :) Here are some of my favorites from their (ever so frigid but oh so pretty!) maternity session!

isn't she purdy!!!

Shayne said, "can't move...too cold"

Boy or girl, which will it be?
Guess we'll all have to wait and see ;)

We should have started at the tractor -- Shayne was extra cooperative then!
I said "touch your belly" to Ashley, and Shayne was right there with her! :) What an overacheiver he is when he's around tractors ;)

Thanks so much, Blevins family, for once again allowing me to capture your family and the most important times of your lives. I cannot wait to meet that precious little one at it's newborn session!

The Dawson Family | Fall Session {Sneak Peek}

I love this family to pieces. Kevin and Tabitha are two of the sweetest people I know, and they are raising two amazingly fantastic boys. And my favorite part of all? This family isn't just amazing, they are real. How do I know this? Because, a). Tabitha is my husbands cousin, and she will certainly tell you like it is (in a loving way ;) ) and b) Kevin tells on himself every Sunday at church....you see, he's our Pastor :)

I had lots of laughs with this family a few weekends ago during their session. From dodging deer poop in the field, to Tabitha smothering her boys in kisses (I love it!), we tried to do the best we could to not freeze our bottoms off!

Of course, it was beautifully bright and sunny that morning...all day, really....and then an hour before their session, Winter time decided to show up!! That has just been my luck with sessions this year!

Minus all of that stuff, here are just a few of my favorites from their session!

I love how Mojo has his little ears perked up and is looking right at me! Such a good boy he was. I have really enjoyed photographing my clients furbabies this year!!

Spend five minutes with these boys and I guarantee they'll have you in stitches! There's also some weird halo looking thing in the sky that is NOT in the edited photo. Stupid internet quality! I am not a fan of the internet compressing my photos :P

So sweet -- love them!!

Jaden requested this photo....and I'm not sure why lol. But I thought it turned out cute!! I have come to the conclusion that this is his J Crew pose.

Believe it or not, I did a head choperoo in the below photo -- aka, I took someone's head from another photo and switched it in this photo. Why? Because I loved the photo but someone had their eyes closed!! Bet you'll never guess who :) I don't do the switches often, but when I do, I get way more excited about it than I should. (PS -- it wasn't Kevin's head, though the shadows on his neck are questionable!! haha)

Mama and her boys!

Kevin + Tabitha, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your family this year :) I hope you enjoy the rest of your photos that will be to you the end of this week!!
xoxo

Jason, Marie + Boys! | Fall Session {Sneak Peek}

A couple of weeks ago I met up with Jason, Marie and these handsome boys at a local favorite, Crockett Park. I think I always find new places to take photos there whenever I have a session. It is a never ending canvas for photos.

I have a lot of clients with amazingly well behaved children, but I have to say, this group of boys never ceases to amaze me. They are so well behaved and so extremely easy to photograph. They are ready and willing to do anything you ask them to, and never once do they complain...not even a sigh! I love this little family to pieces!!!

Here are a few of my favorites from their session.
Speaking of new favorite spots....this is one of them. I often wondered how to incorporate this walkway into photos....now I know :)

Real smiles are the best smiles :) I never realized how extremely awkward it is for people to look at each other....but it is!! And that's ok, because they make the best poses!

Poor Dustin (middle/oldest) broke his collar bone a week or so before his session. Poor thing looked like he was in pain!! I hope he wasn't!! :(

I just loooove his little smile. I love editing his pictures because every time I see his smile, I smile :)
See what I'm sayin'?! You totally just smiled didn't you :)

His brothers have pretty awesome smiles too :)

And this little fella...he's too cute to handle! ;)

Jason + Marie, thank you so so so much for allowing me to photograph your beautiful family. I hope that you enjoy the rest of your photos, and I can't wait to see you again!!
