hello september

It's hard to believe that September is already here. As I drive down my back country road, I notice some peaks of red and yellow on the trees. Just a hint, but they are there at times. We recently purchased a year long pass to Shenandoah National Park, which is only about 15 minutes from us. I foresee a lot of hiking and Fall photo taking in our future. I can't wait.
There are a lot of other things coming up as well -- Fall photo sessions will be in full swing soon. I am once again offering mini sessions, details will be listed below. And I'm quick at work trying to figure out a set-up for our Christmas mini sessions. I'm not sure if I want to go with the Christmas tree farm again this year, or if I just want to do a cut little set-up. Either way, I'll be offering them again this year as well. Again, details will be listed below.

{Fall Mini Session} The Foard Family
There are those families throughout my career that make me feel like a part of them when I am around. The Foard's are one of those families. I can remember how shy and timid Harry was when I first took their fall family photos four years ago. And I can definitely remember how much of a nervous wreck I was. They were my very first paid family session, and I was terrified I couldn't deliver.
They were gracious and told me they loved their photos from that day, and maybe they still do, but as I look back, I am amazed by how much my style and technique has grown. But most of all, I am amazed by how much little Harry has grown. This kid keeps me laughing, and his curly hair is just a mama's dream. Now, Harry doesn't shy away from me at all. In fact, he's quite the ham for the camera. And I love it.
Here are a few of my favorites from their session a few weeks ago....

Jason, Marie + Boys! | Fall Session {Sneak Peek}
Here are a few of my favorites from their session.
Real smiles are the best smiles :) I never realized how extremely awkward it is for people to look at each other....but it is!! And that's ok, because they make the best poses!
Poor Dustin (middle/oldest) broke his collar bone a week or so before his session. Poor thing looked like he was in pain!! I hope he wasn't!! :(
I just loooove his little smile. I love editing his pictures because every time I see his smile, I smile :)
See what I'm sayin'?! You totally just smiled didn't you :)
His brothers have pretty awesome smiles too :)
And this little fella...he's too cute to handle! ;)

Family Portraits | Old Town Warrenton
I first photographed this beautiful family last year, and it is so neat to see how big their two little guys have gotten. Last year we stayed around the Train Depot, but this year we ventured out to Main Street!
Here are a few of my favorites from their session:
Little Andrew was a typical little wiggle worm boy :) But it made for some great candid photos!
LOVED this old green door we found!
I wish the sun wouldn't have been so bright here, but I love this pic of mom and Owen!
Thank you guys so much for allowing me to photograph your adorable family again this year!!
xoxo
