The "S" Family Sneak Peek

It wasn't that long ago when I was sitting at a school desk next to this guy. He hated school, and unbeknownst to teachers, there were many times when his work ended up at my desk to "fix". He would have been the best man in my husband and I's wedding, if we would have had a normal wedding. And my husband was his best man. I often prayed my heart out that this sweet soul would find a woman with a heart as wonderful as his, and he absolutely did.

This beautiful family is one that I was absolutely thrilled to photograph, not just because of history, but because they are just wonderful, inside and out! They asked that I only post a very few photos online, and I totally understand that. So, here are four of my favorites from their session. Trust me, it was hard to pick four :)

Fall Session | The Trenum Family

These guys kept me on my toes, in a good way! We had planned this session in advance, and who knew we would be freezing our tails off in the middle of October!? It literally felt like Winter time out there the other evening. But they were troopers -- they laughed through it all and gave me some great smiles!

Here are a few of my favorites from their session....

Fall Mini Session | The Hoffman Family

Fall mini sessions are in full swing! But it's especially wonderful when I get to photograph family  members. The Hoffman family kicked off my Fall season for me this year! Here are a few of my favorites from their session...

{Sneak Peek} Jesse, Jeet + Gisele's Fall and Christmas Mini's!

Christmas Mini Sessions were in full swing this year, and I cannot tell you how appreciative I am of the beautiful couple that allowed us to use their Christmas Tree Farm for that weekend. We had lots of fun, and I really enjoyed capturing everyone's Christmas joy!

This little family, I just adore them. They wanted to do their Fall and Christmas mini's this year, but we had to reschedule their fall mini for the same day as their Christmas mini. They were complete and total troopers, especially Gisele. She did so good, and that big smile on her face proves it!

Here are a few of my favorites from their sessions a few weekends ago!

{Fall Mini Session} The Seabolt Family

I'm finally getting around to blogging this very patient family's session, and it's a beautiful one. I knew they lived up on the mountain not too far from me, but I didn't realize just how far up on top of the mountain they actually lived....and I am so thankful for it. It was the most beautiful ride I've had in a long time to a clients session, and the leaves were just at peak and perfectly crisp, waiting for the shutter to click.

My little family has known Danny for quite some time, but I've just recently gotten to know his wife, Ashley, and I absolutely love her to pieces. She is just wonderful, and I am so happy we finally got to meet in person a few weeks ago...and their adorable kiddo's!

{Sneak Peek Fall Mini} Joe + Brandy

These two were such troopers during their session. Let me just say, for as windy as it was, they never lost their smiles, and Brandy's hair was always beautiful! And...they brought along their two lovable black labs, which instantly stole my heart! As I told them, I love taking photos of people, but I extra love taking photos of two beautiful people in love. These two are just adorable, and I am so pleased that they chose me to take their photos!!

Here are a few of my favorites from their session last week...

{Sneak Peek} Chris + Jordan Maternity Session

I can still remember when Jordan emailed me asking if I could photograph her wedding. And when she emailed me back to make sure I was still willing to do it after I made the announcement that I wouldn't really be focusing on weddings any longer (I only plan to do 4-5 each year). She was frantic, and while I felt so bad that she thought I was "ditching" her, I also felt excited that this crazy awesome girl wanted me to take her wedding photos some kind of crazy bad.

{Sneak Peek} The Abate Family | Remington, Virginia

A couple of weekends ago, I met up with the Abate family for their family portraits at my grandparents farm.

Everyone loves that old car that sits on their land, including the Abate family, so location was a no brainer!

I had so much fun with these guys. They had ME cracking up the entire time, and I love it when my clients are goofier than I am ;)

Here are a few of my favorite's from their session. Please click on the photos to see them larger if you'd like.

{Sneak Peek} Valentine Day Mini Sessions 2014

A huge thankful to my wonderful clients who decided to brave the mud and barbed wire for Valentine Day Mini's! I smiled the entire time I edited these -- too much cuteness!!

Here is a quick sneak peek of my favorites from your sessions!!

Marie, Jasiah + Ellie were adorable. Ellie and her perfect ears!!

HUGS!

You know, this is just how it goes sometimes :)

The Fox Family -- these two kids are just gorgeous. Their smiles are the best!

One of my very favorite photos of the day is the one below -- cute little Hoffman family (missing one, though!)

And these were the show stoppers of the afternoon. Kisses galore! Shayne and Shelby rocked it, among all of the breakdowns!! :)

The Hoffman Family {Christmas Mini Session Sneak Peek}

First of all, I totally get to pick on these two because they are family. So, now that THAT is out of the way ;) ...

I've been wanting to photograph this family, altogether, for some time now, so when Brittney asked me to take their pictures this year, I was thrilled. And I have to admit, it was extremely hard for me not to ask Ryan to lean up against the barn with his head and hat tilted down like the Marlboro man. I'm sorry, it's just the artist in me....

I'm pretty sure Ryan and Brittney probably haven't had a professional photo taken of just the two of them since their wedding. So, forget the kids, these two were my main goal. hahah, totally just kidding...or am I? I was so happy to get a few photos of the two of them as well as family ones.

Here are a few of my favorites from their session. I won't show you a lot, because some are going on their Christmas cards ;)

Marlboro man, right here, don't you see it!?

Mmmm mmm...pure hotness right here!

Last but certainly not least, I love this kid to pieces. She should have been my child, because I'm pretty sure we would get into a lot of trouble together... hahaha ;)

Love you guys!!

The Dawson Family | Fall Session {Sneak Peek}

I love this family to pieces. Kevin and Tabitha are two of the sweetest people I know, and they are raising two amazingly fantastic boys. And my favorite part of all? This family isn't just amazing, they are real. How do I know this? Because, a). Tabitha is my husbands cousin, and she will certainly tell you like it is (in a loving way ;) ) and b) Kevin tells on himself every Sunday at church....you see, he's our Pastor :)

I had lots of laughs with this family a few weekends ago during their session. From dodging deer poop in the field, to Tabitha smothering her boys in kisses (I love it!), we tried to do the best we could to not freeze our bottoms off!

Of course, it was beautifully bright and sunny that morning...all day, really....and then an hour before their session, Winter time decided to show up!! That has just been my luck with sessions this year!

Minus all of that stuff, here are just a few of my favorites from their session!

I love how Mojo has his little ears perked up and is looking right at me! Such a good boy he was. I have really enjoyed photographing my clients furbabies this year!!

Spend five minutes with these boys and I guarantee they'll have you in stitches! There's also some weird halo looking thing in the sky that is NOT in the edited photo. Stupid internet quality! I am not a fan of the internet compressing my photos :P

So sweet -- love them!!

Jaden requested this photo....and I'm not sure why lol. But I thought it turned out cute!! I have come to the conclusion that this is his J Crew pose.

Believe it or not, I did a head choperoo in the below photo -- aka, I took someone's head from another photo and switched it in this photo. Why? Because I loved the photo but someone had their eyes closed!! Bet you'll never guess who :) I don't do the switches often, but when I do, I get way more excited about it than I should. (PS -- it wasn't Kevin's head, though the shadows on his neck are questionable!! haha)

Mama and her boys!

Kevin + Tabitha, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your family this year :) I hope you enjoy the rest of your photos that will be to you the end of this week!!
