Christopher + Bethany: Married!

NOTE: I haven't finished editing all of their photos, so be prepared for a second blog if I see it necessary!! :)

A year ago, I received a facebook message from a friend of a friend (who I now just call my friend! :)), wondering if I would be interested in doing her wedding photography for her in May 2012. I freaked out. What on earth was going through this girls head, I thought to myself. I don't photograph people. I've NEVER photographed people!! I reluctantly answered with the same reply HA! But her and her fiance had complete and total trust in my ability....and so my business began. For the past year, I've been taking on photo sessions to simply prepare myself for their big wedding day. Little did I know, this would spin me into an amazing new business opportunity that I never thought was even imaginable.

On May 12 of this year, I photographed their gorgeous wedding. And I SO enjoyed it!! Granted, my feet were not thanking me that evening, but that's beside the point.

Here are a few of my favorites (so far) from their big day. Thank you both SO MUCH for putting so much faith into my work and sending me on this new journey!

Please forgive the compression of the photos on the blog. For better details, visit my facebook page www.facebook.com/amyfewellphotography and view the photos in 'full screen' mode.

I am now taking on small wedding ceremonies and receptions, starting at $1100 (depending on the size of the wedding, time, etc).
Please contact me if you are interested in booking a session!

Family

I often share photos of other peoples families, but rarely my own.
So today, I'm going to share my most recent favorite photos of my little family, taken just a couple of weekends ago.  I actually took these photos right after doing Jasiah's First Birthday + Family Portrait session :).

These are strictly straight out of the camera -- absolutely no editing...zero.

My husband and son <3

And again... <3

All too often we forget about the little things.  The simple moments.  The good times.  The photographs that we look back on and say "this was a great day".

This was one of those days :)
I often forget just how blessed I am.  What an amazing life, and 2 amazing people, God has blessed me with.

Jasiah Turns ONE! + Family Portraits

I had the pleasure to take some 'one-year' birthday photos this past weekend of little Jasiah.  We also took a few trips so we could enjoy the beautiful (but windy!) day while taking him and his mommy and daddy's family portraits!!

Here are a few of my favorites from Jonathan, Marie & Jasiah's session this past weekend.

Thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your beautiful little family, Jonathan & Marie.  And Happy 1st Birthday Jasiah!!

Favorite photos of 2011

I didn't really start getting into photography until Spring of 2011.  I, honestly, used to hate taking photos.  It's just something that I never thought I was really good at so I just never did it.  But the need for decorative wall art and photos in my own home became a need (since I couldn't afford it at a retail store!) and so began my journey of photography.  People noticed it, and they enjoyed it.  I started a facebook page for my photography (mainly nature, landscapes and customized wall photography) and had people wanting to place orders.  You can read the entire story of this new journey here.

Anyhoo -- long story short, I now have a wedding booked in 2012 (which was scheduled in 2011!), I've had numerous portrait sessions and am on the road to what I believe is a wonderful new adventure that I've fallen in love with.

Here are a few of my favorite photos of 2011.  I hope you enjoy them!!

The photo below really started it all for me.  It was the moment I knew that I LOVED creating new and exciting things with photography.  This photo was taken in Warrenton, Va on the film set of Clint Eastwood's movie 'J Edgar'

In October 2011, I took my first steps into taking photos of....*gasp* PEOPLE!  Here are a few of my favs from Bridgette & Jeff's engagement session.

I just had a blast with this lovely little family below.  Little Harry was just adorable and I love how his spunk shows in the photo's.  The Foard Family was by far one of my favorite sessions!!

The Hoffman Family is up next!!  The leaves were very cooperative this day -- the sun?  Not so much!!  I know that half of the kids aren't looking at the camera in this photo, but I just love love love the moment of mom looking at baby :) Warms my heart!

And my most favorite photo of the entire year?  *ahem* drum roll please!!!

That would be Harry Foard!!  He stole the spotlight.  I fell in love with this photo when I took it and I think I'm even more in love with it now.  None of this was posed -- he was the perfect little natural model for the camera.  All he had to do was just be him and he did it perfectly!  I love the background too.  When I saw the star on this barn I instantly knew I just had to get it into the photo mix somehow!  This was the perfect way.
Thank you all so very much for supporting me over the past few months with this new journey.  You have been such a blessing.  Can't wait to see what 2012 holds!!
